For Sanrio, the work starts with Design Intelligence.
I first identify emerging cultural and visual trends, then define which narratives have the strongest potential to connect with the DNA of the characters and with future fashion and consumer product directions.
Once the narrative is established, it becomes a full Art Pack and Style Guide developed for Sanrio’s global licensees.
The system includes technically resolved character artwork, created in collaboration with specialist illustrators, together with graphics, motifs, colour direction and visual assets that expand the creative choices available to licensees while keeping the IP consistent.
The final Look Book then translates the system into product inspiration, showing how the new narrative, artwork and styling can come to life across fashion pieces and collections.
The process moves from foresight to narrative, from narrative to design system, and finally from design system to real product application.
